Search Engine Marketing | SEO & SEM
What's your piece of the pie?
I have a couple of very straightforward options. Please set up an appointment and allow us to go over the details of what we can do for your company. Since online marketing is different for every industry, we need to get to know you a little better before we can make a specific recommendation. Having Epiphany Digital do your web marketing may be all you need to succeed!
Some common wrong assumptions:
-
I can buy a website, rank really high, get found by lots of people, and make lots of money!
- Most websites don't make money very quickly. The ones that do usually are very well planned out by seasoned professionals.
- Many websites are not found by their intended audience.
- Once traffic has been generated, much of it doesn't produce a single sale. If you can't convince your viewer you have something worthwhile in the first five seconds of being on your site, you may need a new site, or at least a fresh perspective.
-
Keywords are the ever important, all-inclusive, search engine optimization tool to success.
- Without going too in-depth, if this was it, everyone would have a PageRank 10 site and be at the top of the search engine results listings for every search on the planet. This is inconceivable and impossible.
Search Engine Marketing (or SEM) - Off Site Optimization
Currently I am unavailable to provide this service due to availability constraints. I will manage your online marketing campaigns. This can include anything from managing your social networking accounts, email marketing, and ongoing consultations on how to get the most from your blog. I can manage your pay per clicks, and make suggestions on the best deal for your dollar on banner advertising. My price is based on a monthly hour quota that you set.
Search Engine Optimization (or SEO) - On Site Optimization
Every site I build is set up to be optimized to a degree. If you want to take an even bigger piece of the pie, you may be interested in a more in depth analysis.
What is Search Engine Optimization?
Let's think of it this way. When you read a book, you normally start with an ISBN number, take note of its Dewey Decimal index number, memorize the table of contents so you know where everything is, collect information about illustrations and their page placement... you get the idea? Googlebot just doesn't "look at" a website the same way you or I do. We want to make your website easy reading for Googlebot to kick back and enjoy a nice cup of coffee with.
Included with all our Sites:
-
Valid XHTML 1.1 Strict Output - The latest and greatest of web standards, and the strictist compliance to W3C.org (or World Wide Web Consortium).
- Advantages here include cross-browser compatibility and...
- Making your site as easy to read by Googlebot and other search crawlers as possible.
- All logo's are placed in a <heading> tag with correct title and alternate text attibutes. All this means is you're logo will be clickable to your home page and will be recognized by search engines as the main name of your site.
- Visitor usability is kept in mind throughout the design process with no page taking more than four clicks at the most to get to, and that many clicks only with very large sites.
- All meta data will be included, you know... keywords, page description, page titles, and images will have alternate text. We don't spend a lot of time researching the absolute best for your industry. This is more of a quick fix so at least you have something relevant to your site for Googlebot to crawl. Note: If you want a CMS, I only provide the ability to add your own meta data. I'll take time to explain if you have any questions.
If you need an extra shot in your coffee, you'll want to hire me to take care of a few more things:
- Streamlining your site's architecture and (on a Linux hosted site) you're Apache configurations.
- Let's make sure your site has the appropriate redirects.
- Hook you up with an xml sitemap, dynamic if applicable.
- All of your images will be optimized for web.
- Configure robots.txt for your website for Googlebot and the rest of the search crawlers.
- An internal link analysis will be provided.
- Double check your spelling and grammar--bots like proper English too!
- Check your document type.
- Take a look at your page loads times and file compressions.
- Examine the number of requests from a browser to your site. Less is more when it comes to speed.
- Decide if you should cache your pages: Yes, you should probably cache your pages.
- Use friendly URLs on your site, and while at it, hide the underlying technology of your site to help aid against site hacks.
